Housing has been a growing issue for decades. Finally, thanks to the confluence of the pandemic and the economy and changing values and lifestyles (for some) the feds are finally paying attention. This is a link to the plan offered by the current administration.

This rapidly changing real estate market is being buffered by forces well beyond individual properties or even sectors. Multi-family and single-family holdings are affected.
